Future Engineers in 1st and 2nd
First and Second class have been super busy this week learning all about engineering!
We were so lucky to have two of our pupils have parents who work as engineers and we learned a lot about their work as engineers in our locality.
We began our project by talking about a very topical subject at the moment- the weather and specifically the recent thunderstorms!
Everyone was enthusiastic to learn the science of thunder and lightening but more particularly the how and why it happens!!! We figured out that as engineers we would have to solve problems caused by lightning such as safety outdoor or danger to appliances indoors.
We decided to design lightening proof hurling helmets just in case we got caught in a storm on the pitch.
We even had a "Helmet Design Catwalk show"
