Heritage Expert-Dale Treadwell visit

8th Jun 2022

Today we had a visit from Heritage expert Dale Treadwell. The children in Junior Infants were introduced to biodiversity through much fun and hands on activities. In the classroom Dale read the children the story of "Harry the Hedgehog will you be my Friend". He is the author of this book. We found out hedgehogs eat slugs, snails, caterpillars and bugs. We also looked at various minibeasts through bug viewers. Outside we played a fun "bat and moth" game and were fascinated to see the various minibeasts that live in the trees around our school. We saw spiders, various coloured aphids and beetles.
