Workshop. Climate change and how the tides work?

We welcomed David Mc Grath to school to school for a very interesting workshop on climate change and the tides.
He explained using interactive maps that if the waters around us are to continue to rise, areas around Ennis and  Shannon will be easily flooded.

The children took part in a practical workshop examining the effects the moon, sun and orbiting has on the tides.
We learned about Spring and Neap tides. Did you know a Spring Tide occurs every two weeks?
